Abraham Ibn Ezra (ca. 1089–ca. 1161) was one of the most significant intellectual figures of the medieval Jewish sphere. He was born in Muslim Spain, and throughout the first five decades of his life was immersed in Arabic culture, language, and science. The invasions of intolerant Berber tribes forced him to leave his homeland and lead an itinerant life in Provence, Italy, and England. A biblical exegete, grammarian and poet, he also wrote extensively on scientific subjects, mathematics, astrology, astronomy, scientific instruments and tools, as well as the Jewish Abraham ibn ezra commentaries!
